Dear OMS Families,
Friday morning’s Mass was the first Mass that second graders helped host! Students were in dressy dress and many wore their First Communion outfits. They shadowed their fifth-grade buddies as lectors, altar servers, gift bearers, and petition readers. We look forward to next year when they will be hosting their own Masses.
After Friday’s Mass, many of our sixth- and seventh-grade students were honored for their outstanding work this school year. Faculty and staff witness the high-quality work and effort students put into their studies, and we are dazzled by them. Scholars were recognized for their work in specific subjects, General Excellence, and Christian Spirit. I apologize for the rush at the end. I do hope all of our honored students know how much we appreciate their hard work!
Movin’ Up! is such a wonderful way to end the year. Listening to memories and then watching students step into their new assembly spots fills my heart with joy. I especially enjoy seeing our rising eighth graders move into leadership positions and welcoming the tiny new TKers into our community. Thank you to all who attended and helped make the year’s end a special one!
August 14th will be here before you know it. We are thankful that all of our elementary teachers will be returning next year! While some of our students will be blessed to have the same teachers, the year will be filled with wonderful new experiences that will make it special! In middle school, Jaymie Taylor resigned this week to maximize her time with her own children, who will leave home soon. We wish her the best. This middle school science and math position is posted on EdJoin. If you know of talented teachers who might want to join our team, please encourage them to apply!
Please keep an eye out for our 2024-2025 handbook, which will be emailed in June. We encourage everyone to review it as it contains helpful information for making the upcoming school year successful. We are not anticipating any major changes, just clarifications.
Thank you for another wonderful year! We are grateful to partner with you in education. Our entire faculty and staff thank you for your love and support. Our office will be open from 9:00 to 3:00 through June 28 and reopen on August 1. Please call us if you need help with anything. We wish you a joyful summer and look forward to seeing you in August!
Blessings,
Tess Barket
